ISHPEMING - The NICE school board is expected to consider hiring a new school policy consulting company at this evening's meeting.
The board meets at 6:30 p.m. at the Westwood High School media center.
The board is scheduled to discuss hiring of NEOLA, a company that helps school districts with writing school policy.
According to Superintendent Bryan DeAugustine, the district has been using the Michigan Association of School Boards, which no longer offers policy writing assistance.
"This company helps the school keep up with the constantly changing school policies," DeAugustine said.
Also on the agenda is a discussion about refinancing bonds, which could save taxpayers money, DeAugustine said. The board is being asked to approve a firm coming into look at the situation and determine if refinancing bonds would save money.
In addition, the board is expected to approve a foreign exchange student at Westwood High School for this school year.
