Wildcats soccer team shut out by Ohio Dominican

MARQUETTE - The Northern Michigan University soccer team lost to Ohio Dominican University 2-0 in a GLIAC game played at the NMU soccer field Friday afternoon to drop to 3-9 overall and 2-6 in the GLIAC.

The Panthers scored a goal in each half to improve to 8-4-2 and 4-3-2. The first goal came in the 15th minute on a shot from outside of the box on the right by Jennifer Holton, with the second in the game's waning minutes on an unassisted shot from just outside the net by Lauren Pratt.

Wildcats sophomore goalkeeper Nicole Musi had one save in her first career start, while Laura Clark had six saves for ODU, four coming on shots by Northern senior Amelia Johnson. NMU finished with 12 total shots, ODU six.

The Wildcats host Ashland University at noon Sunday.
