ISHPEMING, Mich. - Vincent P. Maki, 43, of 230 Marquette St., Ishpeming, died at 5:57 AM on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Emergency Room of Bell Memorial Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Vince was born March 3, 1969 in Ishpeming to Peter F. & Vicki L. (Turino) Maki, was a graduate of Negaunee High School, Class of 1987, and was a lifelong area resident. He worked for many years at Northern Electric Automotive in Negaunee and in the maintenance department at the Country Village in Ishpeming. His hobbies included cooking, his computer, music, and going to the family camp on the Escanaba River. Most important to Vince was his family, especially his children.
Surviving are his wife Nicole J. (Bowman), his daughter Kiana and his son Vincent, both at home, his mother, Vicki (John) Haupt of Ishpeming, a brother Anthony (Tracy) Maki and their son Alex, a sister, Amy Maki of Negaunee, his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Maki of Orlando, FL, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marjorie and William Langford of Negaunee Township, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Peter F. Maki on September 30, 1995.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday at the Koskey Funeral Home with Monsignor Peter Oberto officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:30 AM until the time of services at noon on Saturday.
Honoring Vince's wishes, he was a generous donor to the Gift of Life Program.
