MARQUETTE - Much more will be at stake Friday night than The Mining Journal's Diamond Jubilee Trophy when Marquette Senior High School hosts Negaunee in a non-conference football game.
The Redmen (4-3) will end their regular season in the 7:30 p.m. Homecoming contest at William Hart Stadium.
Marquette head coach Dave L'Huillier's squad, which opened the season with three straight wins, needs a triumph to automatically qualify for the Michigan High School Athletic Association playoffs.

The Miners of coach Paul Jacobson have already qualified for postseason play, but will look to keep their unbeaten record intact.
With last week's 20-8 win over previously undefeated Ishpeming, Negaunee is 7-0 overall.
MSHS has won the last two meetings between the schools, including a 20-14 victory at Negaunee last season.
The Redmen have won four of the last six meetings with the Miners.
