Planting a tree along U.S. 41 in Harvey are, from left: Caroline Reynolds, Katie Edwards, Emma Kaznowski, Michael Edwards, Adam Smith, Boy Scout Troop 360 Scoutmaster Dan Hakala, Alex Gimmie, Scoutmaster Paul Salfai, Ian Bek, Matthew Kuhn, Addie Lipinski and Ryan Lipinski. For the past year, Michael Edwards, a boy scout with Troop 360 that meets at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, has been planning a project for his Eagle Scout rank. Included were tree and shrub plantings that can be adopted by businesses and families in Chocolay Township. The tree being planted by Edwards is a memorial to Danny Beck, once a member of Boy Scout Troop 360 and Cub Scout pack 361 who died two years ago in a motorcycle accident near the site. His parents, Eileen and John Beck, were with the group for the ceremony to honor their son.
