Recent production of the video, "Marquette County's West End Legacy" is a great step forward in showcasing the communities of Ishpeming and Negaunee.
The roughly seven-minute film produced by Superior Production in Marquette for the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce highlights some of the events, attractions, people and businesses situated in the west end, from ski jumping and pasties to Italian Fest, the Teal Lake Triathalon, Jasper Knob, Midtown Bakery, Congress Pizza and the Blue Notes Drum and Bugle Corps.
The video is posted on the chamber website at www.gincc.org, as well as its Facebook page and YouTube account.
Elizabeth Peterson, executive director of the chamber, said there's been interest in the video from all across the country. That reaction is an indicator of how useful a tool the video can be.
Peterson, a former television news anchor, is also featured in the short film.
We think this was a wonderful effort to promote the west end and a vehicle for creating new interest in the area. We hope additional projects are launched in the near future.
