NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI. - Roy Gary Roznick, 59, of Boulderwood Ct., Negaunee Township, died at 4:32 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Mather Nursing Center where he had been a patient since September 27th.
Roy was born February 24, 1953 in Milwaukee, WI to Alvin and Mildred (Sobotik) Roznick where he graduated from high school. He moved to the Negaunee area in 1977 and was employed as a Corrections Officer at the Marquette Branch Prison for 27 years, retiring in 2011. Roy was a former member of the Negaunee Rod and Gun Club. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
Surviving are his mother, Mildred Roznick of Minnesota; 2 sons: Daniel and Jacob Roznick, both of Negaunee Township; step-daughter, Alicia Scharpou of Green Bay; brother, John (Sharon) Roznick of Minnesota; and 2 nephews: Michael and Jimmy Roznick. He was preceded in death by his father.
A celebration of Roy's life will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10th at the Koskey Funeral Home.
