MARQUETTE - The Marquette County Board is scheduled to consider its appointment to the Upper Peninsula State Fair Authority at today's meeting.

The board will meet as the Committee of the Whole at 6 p.m. in room 231 of the Henry Skewis Annex to the Marquette County Courthouse in Marquette.

Commissioner Charles Bergdahl was the most recent board appointment to the authority, serving since 2009. The term of appointment is three years. The new term will begin Jan. 1.

Additional agenda items include an amendment to the Marquette County Solid Waste Management Authority articles of incorporation, county board closed session policy, a joint meeting with Forsyth Township and follow up on Martin Lake water levels.

Following the Committee of the Whole session, the board will convene its annual meeting. At that session, a truth in taxation hearing is scheduled held and millage levies for various taxing units are expected to be certified.
