David Charles Jenner

MARQUETTE, Mich. - David Charles Jenner, 72, died at 8:40 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2012, at the University of Michigan Hospital where he had been a patient over the past two months.

David was born January 24, 1940, in Marquette, to Wesley and Ethel (Frigereio) Jenner. David was a graduate of Bishop Baraga High School, Class of 1958. He also completed a Bachelor of Science and a Masters degree. He was a lifelong resident of the Upper Peninsula, spending many happy hours on Mehl Lake.

He was an active participant of the Boy Scouts of America throughout his life. Music was also an important part of his life; he loved playing his banjo and was a member of the Forsyth Singers. Known for his service to the community, he was also a member of the Gwinn Lions Club.

As a man who cherished his Catholic Christian faith, David felt blessed to have been able to serve the Lord Jesus in many ways during his life, and ultimately was able to serve with his loving wife, Jill.

David is survived by his loving wife, Jill (Swanson) Jenner; brother, Robert Jenner and sister-in-law Gloria; sister, Ellen Hanna and brother-in-law Dr. Edward Hanna; a nephew, Dr. Steven Hanna (Dr. Melissa Brouwers) and their children, Quincy and Abigail; a niece, Elizabeth Jenner; two stepsons, Lee and Christopher Bocklund; and his cousin, Ron Jean-Marie.

Friends may call at St. Michael Catholic Church, in Marquette, on Monday, October 8, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Van Damme, pastor, as celebrant and priests of the Diocese of Marquette con-celebrating. A luncheon will follow in the Msgr. Zryd Parish Center, at St. Michael. Private committal services will be held at a later date.
