Board to discuss space needs study

MARQUETTE - The Marquette County Board is expected to discuss a space needs study it commissioned when the panel meets Tuesday in Marquette.

The regular board meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Room 231 of the Henry Skewis Annex to the Marquette County Courthouse.

The study - produced by the Somerville firm of Green Bay, Wis. - analyzed the county's needs for building space throughout the area. Some of the places considered in the analysis include the Marquette County Jail, Ishpeming Service Center and Marquette County Courthouse complex.

The analysis provided some options, in broad terms, the board could consider.

Additional agenda items include a fiscal year 2013 budget discussion, an update on Martin Lake water levels and remonumentation. Several consent agenda items will also be considered, which were motions moved forward to from last week's Committee of the Whole meeting.

The panel is also scheduled to go into closed session for strategy and discussions connected with collective bargaining agreement negotiations.
