NEGAUNEE, Mich. - Mr. Ernest "Ernie" Shusta, age 83, of Walker and Three Lakes, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, passed away Friday, September 28, 2012, after a brief illness.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Dorothy (Villberg), three children, Jeffrey (Nancy) Shusta of Grand Rapids, Mary Shusta of Atlanta, Ga., Sara Shusta and Bart Lafferty of Walker; three grandchildren, Audra (Rick) Venhuizen, Joe Shusta and Stephanie Shusta; two great-grandsons, Matthew and Broden; one sister, Shirley Richey; brother-in-law Willard Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was a retired employee of Michigan Bell AT&T and was a member of the Walker City Board of Review, the Muskegon Conservation Club, The American Legion Neil Fonger Post. Ernie was a member of Holy Spirit Church, 2230 Lake Michigan Drive NW, where a Mass of Christian Burial and Committal Service will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. where he will repose one hour prior at church.
His family will receive visitors Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance, 3525 Remembrance NW. Interment will be at Negaunee Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions to the American Heart Association will be appreciated.
