Kathleen Rieboldt Grudnoski

MARQUETTE, Mich. - Kathleen Rieboldt Grudnoski, age 71, went peacefully to be with her Lord from Marquette General Hospital's Intensive Care Unit September 22, 2012, among family and friends.

Kathleen was born April 16, 1941, in Munising, Michigan, the older child of Robert and Louise Rieboldt. She attended schools in Newberry and Jackson, and graduated from Marquette Graveraet in 1959. She earned a B.A. in French and Spanish from NMU in 1963 and an M.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of Michigan in 1964.

Kathleen was the chair of the languages department at General John Stricker Middle School in Baltimore County, Maryland for eight years and taught French at Crystal Falls Forest Park in the '70s. She was a member of The Good News Assembly of God, Ishpeming and active in Marquette Choral Society and Christian Women's Clubs. She had an abiding love of reading and books, music, and productions at the Stratford Canada Shakespeare Festival which she had attended for 50 seasons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Louise (Joslin) Rieboldt, and her soul sister, her Aunt Helen.

In 1970 she married Anthony T. Grudnoski who survives.

She is also survived by a brother Robert (Anne) Rieboldt; sister-in-law Mina Grudnoski (Roy) Wakeham; niece Christine (David) Schneider; nephews Michael (Jennifer) Grudnoski, Henry (Jennifer) Grudnoski, Blake (Anita) Rieboldt and Max Rieboldt; and grand nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public viewing or memorial service. Friends who wish to honor Kathleen are requested to donate to the Marquette Choral Society in her name.
