Vivian L. Broaddus

MARQUETTE, Mich. - An Angel of our Lord, Vivian Louise Broaddus, 87, formerly of Propylon Housing in Marquette, was called to Heaven at 10:32 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Eastwood Nursing Center.

Vivian was born February 12, 1925 in Allenville, MI to Henry and Marie (Lelievre) Moody and was a graduate of LaSalle High School in St. Ignace. She had lived in the Marquette area for the past 30 years.

In her free time, Mrs. Broaddus enjoyed doing volunteer work at many different places. She was one of the first organizers of the Right to Life of Michigan, having great contributions in both Saginaw and Marquette. She also wrote poetry, was an avid reader, and enjoyed helping with tutoring.

Surviving are 2 sons: Edward (Donna) Broaddus of Marquette and William (Andria) Broaddus of Corunna, MI; 3 daughters: Beverly (Doug) Hoag of Escanaba, Ellen (Ted) Bonner of Skandia and Mary (Kim) Seelhoff of Hemlock, MI; 10 grandchildren: Drew, Edward, Jordan, Katie, Julie, Laura, Erica, Brett, Jason and Denise; numerous great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; a brother, Leo (Susan) Moody of Davison, MI, and numerous nieces and nephews. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Broaddus, and numerous brothers and sisters.

A celebration of Vivian's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Jasper Ridge of the Country Village in Ishpeming. Condolences may be expressed online at
