MARQUETTE, Mich. - Jane A. Jennings, 79, of Harvey, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 22, 2012, at her home, with her family by her side and under the care of Lake Superior Hospice.
Jane was born on June 25, 1933 in Goodrich, Michigan to the late Charles P. and Mina M. (Coatts) Hill. She was a 1950 graduate of Grand Blanc High School.
Jane was formerly employed by the Michigan Bell Telephone Company and was a Kindergarten helper at Silver Creek School for several years. She also worked at the Harvey Inn and the Dry Dock as a waitress, and at the former K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in their commissary. Future employment found her working in the Civil Engineering Department at the base as a work controller and finally as the owner of Jane's Sew & Sew.

Her hobbies included sewing and quilting as well as working jig saw and cross word puzzles. She loved going to watch baseball and softball games. Boating was a favorite past time for Jane and her husband, especially their trips to Isle Royale. She was a member of St. Louis the King Catholic Church.
Jane is survived by 10 children, Terry (Deborah) Jennings of Gwinn, Ronald, Steven and Philip Jennings, Carolyn (Paul) Watters, Kate (Karen) Jennings, and J. Wilbur Jennings, all of Marquette, Joseph Jennings of Vero Beach, FL, Corrine Stentz of Marquette, and Michael (Barb) Jennings of Denver, CO; one step-daughter, Roberta (Don) Keena of Grand Rapids, MI; 15 grandchildren, Todd (Bridget) Jennings, Nathan Jennings, Jessica Bienvenue, Laura Stache, Jeff Woodward, J. Wilbur Jennings, Donald Jennings, Justin Jennings, Elizabeth Kujala-Korpela, Ashley Blakeney, Cassandra Rucinski, Abbie Watters, Ryan Gruver, Daniel Artibee, and Michael Jennings, Jr.; several great grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn Conquest of Grand Blanc, MI; also two nieces, Barbara Conquest and Chris Alyea and one nephew, Lee Conquest. Preceding her in death besides her parents was her husband, Robert J. Jennings, on November 5, 2007 and an infant grandson, Jared Jennings.
The Jennings family will greet relatives and friends on Friday from 10 until 11 a.m. at St. Louis the King Catholic Church in Harvey. A Funeral Mass will be held at the church at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Benedetto Paris officiating and Deacon Gregg St. John assisting. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
