To the Journal editor:
Demonizing others has become a well-accepted practice during the current political campaign. For those who are looking for a way of rising above the fray, I would offer simple words to be prayed frequently over each presidential candidate: "Father, may the depth of your love come to rest upon the heart, mind and soul of Gov. Romney and President Obama."
Then, on election day, rather than voting Democrat or Republican (which can be a form of idolatry), simply vote as you feel God's Spirit is leading you to do, and in the spirit and peace of mind that you have given the election your best.
