To the Journal editor:
In the recent article, "City parking under review," I find the consideration for a review of downtown parking interesting. But it lacks one issue - a major issue.
In the article, there is no mention of addressing handicap parking for those with disabilities. Public access to shops, restaurants and public buildings is not addressed.
I am confident the reviewing board will seriously consider having an American with Disabilities Act professional at the meetings to assure that whatever beneficial changes are made are also beneficial to those with disabilities, those who require parking nearest the shopping areas.
This should apply not only to downtown Marquette, but in the malls and public service facilities within the Marquette Township.
