EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The Northern Michigan University cross country team finished sixth in the all-division Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugold Invite on Friday.

Junior Mallory Celaya led the Wildcats, taking 19th place in 22 minutes, 53 seconds. Sophomore Olivia Howard was 33rd in 23:12 and sophomore Larissa Halonen was seven seconds back in 38th.

"We ran a good race today against some very good competition," NMU head coach Jenny Ryan said. "We had some sick athletes and the team we had available ran very hard. Our younger runners stepped up in their absence."

Minnesota won the meet with 34 team points. UW-Eau Claire (60), Carleton College (90), Winona State (100) and Luther College (131) all finished ahead of NMU.
