MARQUETTE - The City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center announces its 2012 Fall Workshop series. Workshops begin on Monday and continue into December.
Visual art classes include: Beginning Watercolor Painting for Adults Carl Mayer, Figure Drawing with Jason Limberg, Paper Casting with Daniel Jarvis, and Redesign Your Wardrobe with Lanni Lantto. Literary art classes include: Creative Poetry with Amber Edmondson and Raja Howe, and Anishinaabe Language with Sue Smart and Kenn Pitawanakwat. Wellness classes include: Beginning Meditation with Melissa Middleton, Belly Dancing with Maggie Barch, Hoop Shakti Yoga with Jayne Fons Cote, and Tai Chi with Jennifer Silverston.
Classes especially for teenagers (but also open to adults) include: Bouncy Ball Necklace, Felted Acorns, Upcycled T-Shirt Necklace, and Pop Art! with Janey Joffee, Top Down Gloves: Fingers First Knitting with Daniel Jarvis, Fused Glass Jewelry and Ornaments with Beth Cox, Music Theory for Beginners with Emily Prychitlso, Flower Adventure Book with Amber Edmondson and Raja Howe, How to Make a T-Shirt Headband with Lanni Lantto, Beginning Japanese with Ken Satoh, and Writing the Everyday: How to Turn Commonplace Experiences into Memorable Prose with Richard Hackler.
In addition, a three-day watermedia intensive class will be offered Oct. 18-20 with Kathleen Mooney, NWS, ISEA NF.
