Isaac ‘Andy’ Corrette

ISHPEMING, Mich. - Isaac "Andy" Corrette, age 89, of 135 N. Lilac Street, Ishpeming, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Bell Hospital in Ishpeming surrounded by his loving family.

Isaac was born on July 14, 1923, in Negaunee to William and Jennie (Strom) Corrette. He attended Negaunee High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. On October 2, 1948, he married Esther Linna in Negaunee; and they moved to Ishpeming. Isaac worked as a salesman for Vollwerth's Meat Company and Vogler's previously, for 37 years combined, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming. In his younger years, Isaac enjoyed fishing, and always enjoyed keeping his yard immaculate and his cars clean. He was devoted to his family, as a young adult watching over his disabled older brother, his parents, in-laws and wife later in life, and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Isaac thoroughly enjoyed his daily routine of morning coffee at the Jubilee Grocery Store and visiting the Mather Nursing Center in the afternoon.

Isaac is survived by his daughter Sheree (Lou) Gembolis of Ishpeming; grandchildren: Jennifer Nicholas, Sarah (Matt) Kanitz and Jessica (Lee) Hartman; great-grandchildren William Lee Hartman IV, Benjamin Louis Hartman, and Madeline Kanitz; nieces and nephews: Sue (Gene) Rudolph, Bill (Deb) Mattson, Sandy Mattson and Sheryl (Ray) Lindstrom along with several great-nieces and -nephews. Isaac was preceded in death by his parents, wife Esther, a brother William Corrette, and a sister Evelyn Mattson.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

A luncheon will be held at the Bethel Lutheran Church following the memorial service.
