SAULT STE. MARIE - In continuing its now 11-match road trip, the Northern Michigan University volleyball team took a four-set win - 25-16, 25-19, 22-25, 25-16 - over Lake Superior State on Saturday, improving to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in the GLIAC.
Freshmen outside hitter Lisa Studnicka led the Wildcats with a team-high 17 kills and three aces. Senior Lina Lopes accompanied Studnicka with 15 kills for the Wildcats and both contributed 14 digs.
Junior setter Kellisha Harley put up 42 assists, while freshman libero Alex Berger led with 18 digs.

After playing all of their games up to this point on the road, the Wildcats will finish the 13-game road trip with two matches next weekend in Ohio. Friday night's game will place at Lake Erie College and Saturday's game pits NMU against Ashland.
