Knitting for Newbies at library

MARQUETTE - Knitting for Newbies will be held from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Mondays, Sept. 17 through Oct. 22 at Peter White Public Library in the Dandelion Cottage Room. Participants ages 7-17 will learn knitting basics by knitting a small blanket which will be donated to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Marquette General Hospital.

The class will be led by Dan Jarvis. The program is free, but participants must bring one skein of worsted weight yarn, either a synthetic blend or superwash wool, and one set of no. 8 circular needles, 16 inches long.

There is a limit of 12 students, and preregistration is required. For more information or to register, call 226-4323.
