CHARLEVOIX - After jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first half at Charlevoix, the Marquette Senior High School soccer team added one more goal in the second half to win 4-0 and up its record to 5-2-3 on the season.
"Offensively we had no trouble," MSHS head coach Matt Tebo said.
"We handled them well. We attacked a lot and had to try new formations. It was 3-0 at halftime so we got to experience some different positions."
The first goal for the Redmen came three minutes into the first, with Hunter Shaneberger hitting the net off of a Chad Ross assist. In the 23rd minute of the same half, Max Bednarek put another one in with the help of Bryce Genovese. Only 25 seconds later, Genevose helped Ben Wright in scoring the last goal of the first half.
Lehomm Pickard rounded out the scoring for MSHS with an Andrew Bennett assisted goal seven minutes into the second half.
Goalie Tony Lackey combined for three saves while, offensively, the Redmen put 37 total shots on goal against the Raiders.
