Thomas “Tommy” Tuominen

REPUBLIC, MI. - Thomas H. Tuominen, 79, of County Road 601 Republic, passed away Wednesday evening at the Frank Valente Building of the Marquette County Medical Care Facility after being admitted earlier in the day.

Born June 12,1933 in Ishpeming the son of Taisto and Myrtle (Harvey) Tuominen he was a lifelong area resident. He attended Republic Schools and worked on the family farm and did woods work his entire life. A member of the Republic Lions Club "Tommy" was also active with the Potato Growers Association. A hard working and honest man, he took care of his mother and his handicapped brother until their deaths. Mr. Tuominen liked to visit with his many friends and neighbors.

He is survived by his good friends Glenn Adams, Eurin Skogman, Richard Nicolas along with several cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday 1PM at the Racine Funeral Chapel in Ishpeming with Rev. James Janofski to officiate.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with burial in the Ishpeming Cemetery.
