Fire/EMS gets new unit

The Negaunee Township Fire/EMS Department recently received a 2012 Ford F-550 4x4 Crew Cab to be used primarily for fires in the urban interface and wildfires. It will also assist local fire departments and the state when needed. The unit was built by CSI Emergency Apparatus, LLC of Grayling at a cost of $162,816. The unit replaces a 1986 4-by-4 pick-up truck. It features seating for five firefighters, a 300 gallon water tank with a 10 gallon Class A foam pro proportioner unit, a 19 hp diesel pump, and several compartments for tools and equipment.
