IRON MOUNTAIN - Iron Mountain, in a match with three, three-set decisions and two more involving tiebreaks, downed Marquette 7-1 in high school girls tennis Monday at the Amos Marston Eastside Courts in Iron Mountain.
"This was a lot closer match than what a 7-1 score looks like," Mountaineers coach Greg Stegall said after his team moved to 12-1-1. "The girls are performing under pressure and looking at the close scores. That's what they're doing."
The Redettes' point resulted at No. 1 singles with Maddie Gardiner spilling Laurie March 6-4, 6-1.

"They pulled off a close one and good for them," Stegall said.
