GWINN, Mich. - Sandra Kay Kelly, 67, of Gwinn, died Sunday evening, September 2, 2012, in the comfort of her family and friends.
Sandra was born on December 6, 1944, in Munising, a daughter of the late Louis Derwood and Sheila Mae (Atherton) Yokeum. She had resided in the Gwinn and Little Lake area over the past 26 years and wintered in Florida for the past 23 years.
Sandra worked for many years as a cook and waitress in the restaurant business beginning in the family restaurant, The Wheels Truck Stop in Kiva.
In her free time, she bowled in a league for 25 years in Rock and Gwinn. She was a member of the Gwinn VFW Post.
Survivors include three children, Randy LaBresh of Indiana, Rene (Brenda) LaBresh of Sturgeon Bay, WI and Tammi (Todd) Heller of Gwinn; four grandchildren, Joey LaBresh, Brandon and Dylan Roy, and Ashley LaBresh; one great granddaughter, Lillyanne Mae Buelteman; six siblings, Eunice Pelletier, Vivian Platias, Jerry, Ted, Pat, and Terry Yokeum; also many nieces, nephews and cousins, including a very special cousin, Linda (John) Trzeciak of Munising.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sheila Mae Yokeum, her first husband, Joe LaBresh, second husband, Jack McCoy and third husband, Christopher T. Kelly; also siblings, Jack and Jim Yokeum in 1958 and Tom Yokeum in 2001.
A celebration of Sandra's life will take place at her home in Gwinn on Saturday, September 29 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Ron Westman presiding.
