Gerald W. (Jer) Aho

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. - Gerald W. (Jer) Aho (born July 13, 1952), formerly of National Mine, went to our lord on August 26, 2012 under the loving care of hospice and his family.

Jer enjoyed the warmth of South Carolina making his pickles, chowchow, and cooking. He also enjoyed flea markets and being with his family. Jer served in the U.S. Army and worked at various jobs. He ran a canning business and also a taxi service.

Jer is survived by his wife of 15 years June (Laforest), children Jesondra (Joe) Pennala, Josh (Brandi Nelson) Aho, Jeremy (Angel) Aho, Jennifer (Tommy) Aho, Tim Kangas, and Mary Jo (Tyler) Kangas. Grandchildren Cody and Cassidy Heikkila, Xander Pennila, Dominique, Bailey, Nolan, and Calienna Aho. Brothers and sisters Gail (Ron) Santamore, William J. (Karen) Aho, Susan (Terry) Jandron, Dennis K. Aho, Rita (Dan) Niemisto, Debe (Robert) Annala, Roberta (Terry) Annala, Kendall Aho, Candace (Richard) Palm, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Jane (Booker) Aho.

A memorial brunch will be held at the Tilden Township Hall on Saturday September 8, 2012 from 11am to 1 pm. Cards can be sent to June Aho at 5500 Harbour Lake Dr. #B2 Goose Creek, S.C. 29445.
