Negaunee tennis still perfect after sweeping Gwinn

NEGAUNEE - Negaunee remained undefeated this season by winning every match in straight sets during an 8-0 victory over Gwinn in a high school girls tennis match played Tuesday afternoon.

The Miners (7-0-1) didn't lose more than four games in any match except at No. 4 singles, where NHS' Dana DeBretto survived a marathon first-set tiebreaker, 11-9, to record a 7-6, 6-1 victory over the Modeltowners' Dakota Grobaski.

Both teams are back in action today with home meets. Gwinn hosts Gladstone at 3:30 p.m. while Negaunee entertains Westwood at 4 p.m.
