MARQUETTE - A Marquette man accused in a bar room stabbing Friday night was arraigned Monday in Marquette County District Court.
James Earl Christensen, 31, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and being in possession of a controlled substance, second offense.
He was lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a bond of 10 percent of $55,000.
Christensen is scheduled to appear in court next for a preliminary examination at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 10.
Shortly before 10:30 p.m. Friday, Marquette City Police responded to a report of a large fight at the Long Shot Saloon, located at 149 W. Baraga Ave. in Marquette.
Police went to the bar and found the alleged victim, Bradley Joseph Hase, 42, of Marquette had been stabbed numerous times.
He was taken to Marquette General Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and later released.
Police said Christensen had fled the bar, but was located shortly afterward and arrested.
"We're still investigating and still interviewing witnesses," said Marquette City Police Detective Lt. Gordon Warchock.
