ISHPEMING - Kevin C. Swanson of Ishpeming was recently awarded the 2012 Wildlife Biologist of the Year award from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
Swanson is a graduate of Ishpeming High School, received a bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University and a master's degree from Michigan Tech University.
He and his wife Heather have three children, Khora, Otto and Lilly.
