MARQUETTE - The Peter White Public Library will sponsor an antique appraisal fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Community Room. Mark F. Moran will provide verbal item appraisals for advance ticket-holders. Moran has been active as an appraiser of antiques and fine art for more than 20 years.
Tickets for a scheduled appraisal time cost $15 and are available at the circulation desk. A limited number of tickets are available with a maximum purchase of three tickets per person. Reserve tickets by calling 228-9510 with a valid credit card. Proceeds will benefit the library.
Appraisals include: Fine art (paintings, drawings, prints, statuary); Furniture (smaller pieces preferred); Ceramics (figural pottery, vases, dishes, kitchenware, stoneware); Glassware (lighting, marbles, souvenir items); Vintage photographs (snapshots, tintypes, ambrotypes, daguerreotypes); Advertising (posters, lithographed tin, paper, figural objects); Folk art (carvings, quilts, weathervanes, windmill weights, "outsider" art); Assorted toys (dolls, windups, mechanical banks); Metalware (iron, bronze, brass, pot metal, silver, silver plate); Clocks (mantel, hanging, figural); Costume jewelry (brooches, bracelets, earrings).
