Elvie E. Wickstrom

NEGAUNEE, MI. - Elvie E Wickstrom, age 84, formerly of Forest Drive in Negaunee, passed away August 17, 2012 surrounded by family at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where she had been a patient for two years.

Elvie was born May 24, 1928 to Isaac and Saima (Linna) Warlin. She was employed as a Personnel Manager for the K-Mart Corporation for 21 years retiring in 1996. Elvie was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Negaunee where she had been a member of the Abigail Circle. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and knitting. Elvie also enjoyed volunteering at Lakeview Elementary School helping students in the after school program. Elvie was a wonderful mother and grandmother with a kind and gentle heart.

Elvie is survived by three children; Cheryl (Greg) Dix of Negaunee, Carol (Fred) Vizena of Negaunee and Jack (June) Wickstrom of Marquette; three brothers Bernard (Ruth) Warlin of West Allis, WI, James Warlin of Springbrook, WI and Melvin (Dina) Warlin of Ishpeming, MI; seven beautiful grandchildren - Jeff Verville, Jon and Joe Vizena, Alex and Cody Wickstrom, Stephanie (Scott) Gallion and Barbara (Jamie) Kennedy; four great grandchildren - Alley Nelson, Collin Gallion, Nathan and Chase Kennedy; a sister- in-law Jean Warlin and brother-in-law Norman Martti; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband John in 1976, her parents, her sister Elsie Martti and brothers William and Leslie Warlin.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Negaunee with the Reverend Marcia Solberg to officiate. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren; Jeff Verville, Jon and Joe Vizena, Alex and Cody Wickstrom and Stephanie Gallion.

Friends may call at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Negaunee from 1:00PM until 3:00PM on Tuesday August 21, 2012. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are asked to consider The Brad Cory Special Needs Unit at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming, MI.
