To the Journal editor:
I would like to applaud Tiffany Johnson on her Aug. 7 letter to the editor. It concerned House Bill 4333, which deals with the financial abuse of seniors. There seems to be so many people taking advantage of our seniors.
If this bill passes, I would like to see an investigation of our governor and legislators who passed House Bill 4480 last year. That bill made retirees on a fixed income begin to pay state income tax on their pensions.
It seems as though the governor and legislators were trying to balance the state budget by taking advantage of retired seniors.
Oh, but wait, I guess the governor and legislators would be exempt from prosecution under the new House Bill 4333.
