To the Journal editor:
I would like to publicly thank the Wal-mart crew at Customer Service who helped us Aug. 9 around 9:30 p.m. They spent at least 45 minutes trying to separate some wire baskets that were (almost) hopelessly stuck together from being pressed together too hard in shipping. We wanted four of the baskets.
From the first cheerful and smiling girl at the desk to the (at least) seven young people who ended up trying to help, they were so nice and so determined not to give up. One young man got a pinched finger out of it, but kept smiling! I was so impressed with all of them.
The first girl at the counter continued smiling and helping other customers who came up while all this was going on as well as helping with the baskets. The workers expressed no impatience with "senior citizens" and had no thought of quitting.
When they finally got the baskets apart, one young man let us pick the ones we wanted because some were scratched up from being so tightly wedged together.
Walmart should be proud to have such fine people working for it. Thanks again, guys.
