Firing unjust

August 14, 2012
The Mining Journal

To the Journal editor:

This goes out to all the sport fans of Gwinn High School. At 6:30 p.m. Aug. 20, the board of education will be asked to accept a letter of resignation from the girls varsity basketball coach and the eighth grade girls basketball coach.

Brad Pfluger was given an ultimatum of either resign or be terminated of his coaching duties.

Over the last few months there have been a few disgruntled parents that have voiced their complaints about the coach to the school board. Because of that, the board or athletic director decided the easiest thing to do is get rid of the coach.

We need to show up at the board meeting and show them that there are a lot of people in this community that appreciate what Mr. Pfluger and his family have done for the athletic programs in this district.

So if you are a parent of any girls that played for Gwinn in the last five years, or a parent of an eighth grade girl in the last four years, or if your son or daughter were able to take part in the youth basketball camp that Mr. Pfluger organized and coached, or if you just love Gwinn athletics please show up Monday, Aug. 20.

Mr. Pfluger coached many sports over the last 13 years, boys and girls. Athletes and parents past and present show up and give Mr. Pfluger your support.
