Members of marquette Breakfast Rotary enjoy the hospitality of Teaching Family Home’s campus during a recent meeting. Teaching Family Homes CEO Christine Myers gave the club a tour of the facility which serves abused and neglected children throughout the U.P. MBR has helped in supporting the building of the campus as part of its mission to serve area youth. Rotary Club of Marquette out-going President Jack Frost, left, hands the gavel to new President Ted Finco recently. Finco previously served as president in 2007-08. The Rotary Club of Marquette contributes an average of more than $35,000 a year for community development projects, services and fundraising events. Finco is a native of Wakefield and a 1997 graduate of Northern Michigan University with a bacherlor’s degree in business management and a minor in accounting. He is the store manager for Gordon Food Services and lives in Negaunee Township with his wife Kristi. Davis on the AAUW’s STEM program which encourages young girls to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Marquette Breakfast Rotary welcomes fellow Rotarian Dr. David Luoma, medical director of Northern Michigan University’s Health Center as a guest speaker. Dr. Luoma, along with staff nurse Geraldine Nault, left, gave a presentation describing the many health care services provided for the NMU community, along with discussing a few of the health issues of concern for the students of NMU. The club is now enjoying NMU's Wildcat Den as it’s new meeting location every Thursday morning.
