ISHPEMING, Mich. - Rose Mary Armitage, 90, of 111 Bluff Street, Ishpeming, passed away Tuesday morning at her home surrounded by her family and U.P. Home Health and Hospice.

Born March 31, 1922 in Ishpeming, the daughter of Frank and Teresa (Tasson) Bertucci she was a lifelong area resident. She married Mr. John J. Armitage June 8, 1942 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He preceeded her death on September 28, 1999. Mrs Armitage worked for the H.W. Gossard Company and later in housekeeping at Bell Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church and the auxillary there.

Survived by 2 daughters Albert (Rose Marie) Lewis and Teresa Ryan both of Ishpeming, 3 sons John J. Armitage Jr. of Iron Mountain, Francis (Cindy) Armitage of Republic and Joseph (Mary) Armitage of Youngstown Ohio. 19 Grandchildren, 23 Great-grandchildren, 3 Great-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters Teresa Carriere and James (Mary Jane) Boles, 1 Brother Francis (Martha) Bertucci along with several Nieces and Nephews also survive. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceeded in death by 2 Brothers Dominic and Anthony, 1 sister Elizabeth Bengry and a Brother in Law Bert Carriere.

Funeral services will be held Friday 11 AM at St. Johns Catholic Church with Father Greg Heikkila officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM Friday until the time of the service at the Church. Fellowship will follow the service in the Church Hall with burial in the Northland Chapel Gardens. Mrs Armitages Grandchildren will act as Pallbearers. The Racine Funeral Chapel of Ishpeming is assisting the family.
