ISHPEMING - The Ishpeming City Council will talk about plans to boost energy efficiency when it meets Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Ishpeming Senior Center.
On the agenda is a memorandum of understanding between the city and Honeywell, International to formulate a plan to help the city improve its energy efficiency throughout its buildings.
Goals of the agreement are to develop a facility and infrastructure improvement program, intended to evaluate mechanical and electrical system replacements; repair, modernize and maintain buildings; and improve financial savings by reducing utility costs.
The Ishpeming City Council will hear a second reading of Payment in Lieu of Tax ordinance for the proposed Phelps Apartments. The apartments are planned for the former C.L. Phelps Middle School building, shown here. (Journal file photo)

The meeting is also scheduled to include a second reading of Payment in Lieu of Tax ordinance for the proposed Phelps Apartments.
