NEGAUNEE - Anthony L. Eagle, 46, has been identified as the motorcycle operator killed after rear-ending a semi truck on U.S. 41 Friday morning in Negaunee Township.
According to police, Eagle was traveling behind a semi truck driven by Robert J. Young, 56, of Escanaba, and owned by Upper Peninsula Concrete Pipe Co., also of Escanaba, at 9:08 a.m.
Eagle was unable to stop when the semi began to slow to make a left turn from the east-bound lane and collided with the back of the truck.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Marquette County Sheriff's Office.
