ASBURY, MO. - Carol J. Lewke of Asbury, Missouri, passed away on April 5, 2012 after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family, at the Missouri St. Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon, MO.
She was born to the late Alphee J and Closmere (Trudeau) Perry in Detroit, MI. on August 23, 1934.
She is survived by her children, James Lewke, Asbury MO., Noel Lewke, Colonial Heights, VA., Lynn Marie Pittman, Skandia, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents and two of her children, Joseph Lewke of Asbury, MO. and Katherine Trudeau of Neosho, MO. She had seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Eileen Marcelain, Tucson, AZ., Elizabeth Lorence, Sterling Heights, MI., Katherine Gerou of AuTrain, MI., and one brother, James Perry, Warren, MI., and her sister-in-law Mary Lou Tulys, of Brampton, MI., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol was a courageous woman. After raising her family she returned to school, obtained her high school diploma in 1973, and her degree in Practical Nursing from NMU in 1984. She worked as a LPN in Nursing Homes, first at Norlite in Marquette, then in Oshkosh, WI. and finally Neosho, MO. where she retired. She was a devout Catholic and a most supportive mother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The funeral services will be held August 3, 2012 at St. Louis the King Church in Harvey, MI. Visitation at 10:00 A.M., Mass at 11:00 A.M., with a luncheon to follow.
