MARQUETTE, Mich. - James L. "Jimmy" Perron, age 53, of 358 County Road 550, Marquette, passed away Friday morning, July 20, 2012, at his home, with his loving wife, Terri, by his side, ending his long and courageous battle with cancer.
Jim was born January 27, 1959 in Manchester, New Hampshire, son of the late Elphege and Carmel (Paquin) Perron. He began his working career in the New Hampshire factories and then in the logging business, in which he continued when he came to Marquette in the early 1980s. After years of working in the woods, Jim began working as a truck driver for Griffin Beverage Company. On May 19, 2000, Jim married the love of his life and best friend, Terri Trotochaud. Together their love for animals, especially neglected pets, led them to start a small hobby farm at their home. Named "The Ranch" aka "Silly Farm", the adventure at times resembled a zoo for the variety of animals they acquired. Many "critters" came and went over the years, but there was always room for one more. The couple worked tirelessly to board, feed, and love, what came to be known as Terri and Jim's "four legged kids". Jim also enjoyed woodworking, building model trucks and cars, gardening, anything to do with John Deere and Ford tractors, and the great outdoors with all that nature had to offer.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Terri; sister, Jan Szelest; brothers, Bill (Missy) Perron, Russell Perron, and Dwain Perron; brother-in-law, Frank Bieniek, all of New Hampshire; step-mother, Violet Perron of Republic; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a very special "pink" angel, Bonnie Jo; and all of Terri's family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lea Perron, Ailene Bieniek; brothers-in-law, Reggie LaDuke and Carmen Szelest.
