LOS ANGELES, CA - Susan Bernice (Ombrello) Tucker, age 59, of Los Angeles, and former Marquette resident, entered eternal life in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 18, 2012.
Born September 27, 1952 in Marquette, a daughter of Anthony and Bernice (Stolpe) Ombrello, Susan was raised in Marquette until the age of 10 when the family moved to Lansing. She graduated from Waverly High School in Lansing in 1970 and returned to Marquette, enrolling at Northern Michigan University and receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work in 1974. Susan's working years were balanced with that of being a homemaker and devoted mother. She was employed at Younkers where her pleasant personality and willingness to be of assistance earned her several awards and accolades for outstanding customer service. Later, she returned to Northern Michigan University where she earned her MBA Degree in Business Management. Susan worked hard to raise her children to be independent and once raised, they migrated to sunny California. In 2005, Susan joined her sons in Los Angeles where she was instrumental in helping raise her grandchildren, a mission she relished. Susan was very conscious of her life in Christ and put her Christian values into being a generous, patient, and loving person who put into practice what she believed. She also possessed a great sense of humor and her trademark was a wink and a smile, letting everyone know all would be ok. In her leisure, she enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to blow bubbles and watching Sunday football with her sons, always rooting for the Steelers.
Susan is survived by her sons, Anthony (Cherry) Tucker and Jonathan (Carolyn) Tucker both of Los Angeles, CA; her grandchildren, Rex, Lyon, Nala, Preslie, Marlie, and Hendrix; her parents, Anthony "Tony" and Bernice "Bea" Ombrello; sister, Theresa Daniels; brother, William "Bill" (Sue) Ombrello all of Marquette; two nieces and three nephews. Susan was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Francis Tucker.
