MARQUETTE - An Ely Township man who allegedly struck a 64-year-old pedestrian in Ishpeming on Wednesday was arraigned in Marquette County Circuit Court Thursday on one count of operating with a suspended, revoked or denied license, causing serious injury, a five-year felony.

According to the Ishpeming City Police Department, 50-year-old Richard Charles Jordan struck Linda Marie Vanginkel of National Mine as she was crossing Third Street near the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame.

Vanginkel was transported to Marquette General Hospital by Bell EMS, where she was listed in critical condition this morning.

Police said Jordan was driving a 1995 Chevrolet pick-up truck. His wife, Brenda Jordan, 46, was a passenger in the vehicle.

Jordan is lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary examination at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 2.
