MARQUETTE, Mich. - Linda F. Adamini, 68, of 27 Oak Hill Drive, Marquette died at 6:05 AM on Monday, July 16, 2012 at Marquette General Hospital following a short illness.
Linda was born March 23, 1944 in McKeesport, PA to Minerva (Haddle) and G. William Fraley, Jr., and was a graduate of McKeesport High School, Class of 1962. She earned a Bachelor Degree in music education in 1966 from Muskingum College, Ohio and her Masters Degree in 1968 from Syracuse University. She helped with her college fees by serving as the organist at various churches. She began her career as a music teacher for the Wayne/Westland, MI School District from 1968 -1971. She worked for the Gwinn Area Public Schools as both a music and elementary classroom teacher from 1972 until her retirement in 1999.
Linda was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marquette and was a supporter of the Marquette County Humane Society. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and she loved her pets.
Linda is survived by her husband, Stephen F. Adamini, whom she married on June 19, 1971 in Wayne, MI. Also surviving are her son, Stephen F. (Melissa) Adamini, Jr. of Negaunee, 6 grandchildren: Alexandra, Markie, and Ryan Karki, Chessa and Tristin Adamini, and Anistaisa Zumpf, a brother-in-law Thomas (Janice) Adamini of Apple Valley, MN, a sister-in-law, Judy Adamini of Green Bay, WI, several nieces, nephews, and cousins in PA, TX, and CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Corrine Fraley Johnson on April 26, 2011.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 5-8 PM on Thursday at the Koskey Funeral Home. Private family services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday with Rev. William T. Payne officiating. Interment will be in Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the St. Jude Children's Hospital in Linda's memory.
