Roland ‘Bud’ Revello

VULCAN, Mich. - Roland "Bud" Revello, 76, a longtime resident of Vulcan, MI., died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at his home after a long battle with cancer and leukemia.

Roland was born September 17, 1935 in Negaunee, MI., the son of the late Gerald and June (Burnette) Revello.

Roland married Carla Louise Mattson on August 27, 1955.

He graduated from Ishpeming High School (1953), Northern Michigan University BS (1957), Wayne State University Med (1961), Post graduate work done at NMU and MSU.

Roland taught Math and Science at Highland Junior High, Highland MI. 1957 -1963, was a Space Science Lecturer for NASA 1963 1965, Principal and Athletic Director at Engadine Junior High, Engadine, MI. 1965- 1970,and was Principal at Norway High School, Norway, MI. 1970-1992.

He was a member of the Michigan National Guard, Michigan Association Secondary School Principals, National Association Secondary School Principals, and on the Dickinson Iron Professional Development Policy Board.

Bud was well known in the community for his active service and charter membership in the Upper Michigan Lions Club (1969-2012). He was the 1st and only male awarded the Dickinson County Home Maker of the Year at the 99th annual Dickinson County Fair in 2009 and was awarded the Norway Knights Fan of the Year 2012. He was an avid supporter of the Norway Knights sports teams and attended as many sports events as he could fit in between running to his 5 grandsons' activities.

Bud's hobbies were fishing on the "D Cup Too" at Cedar River with Carla and friends and family, Dancing, Baking, Making Jellies for the fair, Reading, Gardening and doing crossword and sudoku puzzles.

Bud will be missed by his Wife Carla, Sons Michael (Beth) Revello of Altoona, WI., Ronald (Donna) Revello of Oconto Falls, WI., Grandsons Jason (Enni) Revello of Lappeenranta, Finland, Christopher (Stephanie) Revello of Appleton, WI., Brent Revello of Quincy, IL, Nathan Revello of Menomonie, WI. and Luke Revello of Altoona, WI., Sisters Marilyn (Charles) Delongchamp and Mary Kaye (Wade) Grady, Sister in law Patricia Revello, Step Father Donald Johnson, Uncle Wallace Revello, Aunt Marie Jacobetti and many nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Roland was preceded in death by his parents and Brother David Revello.

Family will greet friends on Saturday, August 4 from 8 a.m. 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Norway.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church, with a luncheon to follow, Pastor Dennis Mattila and Rev. James Danielson will officiate.

In Lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
