IRON MOUNTAIN - A pair of Alger County teams were eliminated in Little League baseball district play on Friday evening.
In the Majors division for players ages 12 and under, Kingsford defeated Tri-County, 11-1, in five innings in East Kingsford. Tri-County includes players from Chatham, Eben, Trenary, Rock and Perkins.
Kingsford scored eight runs in the first three innings and ended the game with three more in the fifth as pitchers Austin VanPembrook, Chase Kreski, Nate Krueger and Wes McLain combined to limit Tri-County to just two third-inning hits - a run-scoring single by catcher Evan Hall and another single by Wade Krysiak.

Kingsford and Gladstone, which lost to Norway on Friday, were to meet Saturday with the winner to take on undefeated Norway today, and if necessary, Monday.
In the Minors division districts, Norway eliminated Munising by winning 9-3 on Friday, scoring four times in fourth inning after Munising trailed just 5-3.
Norway used five extra-base hits in its big first and fourth innings while also sending six pitchers to the mound - Peyton Thompson, Noah Gorzinski, Jesse Julian, Parker Lasater, Kody Hendricks and Evan Anderson.
Norway and Gladstone, which lost to Iron Mountain North on Friday, were to meet Saturday with the winner taking on undefeated IM North on Sunday, and if necessary, Monday.
