ISHPEMING - As a special fundraiser for the Ishpeming High School Alumni Association scholarship fund, the association is hosting a tour Sunday of five homes and gardens surrounding Ishpeming's Lake Bancroft.
The tour is set for 1 to 5 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the tour will be rescheduled for July 22.
The alumni association decided to organize and host the tour after the Ishpeming Area Historical Society, which usually hosts a historic homes tour, decided to not hold its event this year.

"We thought we would like to be able to continue doing a home tour," organizer Susan Bitner said. "A lot of people as they walk around the lake appear to be interested in the houses."
While not strictly a historic homes tour, the alumni association event allows visitors to five of the homes and gardens that surround the Ishpeming lake, all owned by IHS alumni.
For $10, the tour includes the five homes and gardens, as well as an ice cream social at the Lake Bancroft Park during the the tour.
Tickets are available at Lake Bancroft Park on Sunday. Proceeds from the tour go to support the association's scholarship fund.
"It can be a two-year school, a trade school. It's to help everyone," Bitner said.
Parking for the tour is available at the Ishpeming playgrounds or at the Cliffs Shaft Mining Museum.
