Under the Big Top concert a huge success

July 14, 2012
The Mining Journal

Marquette City Band Director Stephen Grugin in the clown costume and David Gilbert in the gorilla costume play up the band's Thursday night concert that was called Under the Big Top. Grugin rode in on a unicycle and juggled during the concert and members of the Marquette Senior High School gymnastics team performed flips and aerials during several songs. The circus-themed concert was intended to draw families with younger children to the performance, and it succeeded as it drew a crowd of about 300, with plenty of children in attendance.
