MARQUETTE - Al Mitchell is going back to the Olympics.

"We have a young team, but they're looking good," Mitchell said in a press release. "The world has caught up to the United States and no one country will take all the medals."

Mitchell will be working with both the men's and women's Olympic teams. He's currently with those athletes at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., to prepare for the coming Games, which begin July 27 in London, England.

The squads depart for England Saturday for final preparations.

Also going to the Games with USA Boxing is Northern Michigan University and USOEC alumna Mikaela Mayer of West Hills, Calif.

Mayer, who recently won a bronze medal at the boxing world championships, was selected to participate as a training partner for Team USA.
