MARQUETTE, Mich. - Robert J. Johnson, 70, of Marquette, died Friday afternoon, July 6, 2012 at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette.
Mr. Johnson was born on June 22, 1942 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a son of the late LeRoy J. and Helen Johnson. Robert spent his entire career with the United States Air Force as a Sergeant (December 19, 1960 to December 23, 1966). On July 27, 1979, he married the former Gail C. Book in Marquette.
His hobbies included photography, word puzzles and reading.

Survivors include his wife, Gail; children, Stacy Johnson of Ishpeming, MI, Lonnie Koster and Robbie Johnson; grandson, Trent Louis; a sister, Rosalind (Ed) McIntyre of Cedar Springs, MI; 1/2 sister, Helen (Roger) Schiebelbein of Texas; also nieces and nephews, Angie, Brock, Julie, Brad and Mark.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. in the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home with the Rev. Ardy Johnson presiding. Burial will take place in the Park Cemetery.
